My History 

I was born and raised in Maine.  I received a degree form the University of Maine in Orono and my law degree from Suffolk University Law School.  For over two years, I practiced at a boutique Chapter 11 bankruptcy firm in Chicago.  In 1984, I started my own bankruptcy firm.  Today, I offer legal services in bankruptcy, real estate, nonprofit and business law.  I am a member of many different professional boards and organizations, including:

Bankruptcy Law

My primary focus is Chapter 7, 11, and 13 bankruptcy law.  Filing for bankruptcy will stop harassing creditor phone calls, collection activity and any pending lawsuits.

Chapter 7: If you qualify for Chapter 7, you can get a complete discharge of your unsecured debt.  In most cases, will be able to retain possession of your home, car, and other property.  

Chapter 13 : is a bankruptcy plan for reorganization of debt.  Under Chapter 13, you can stop foreclosure proceedings; allowing you to keep your home while discharging your debts.

Chapter11 consumer bankruptcy: This a bankruptcy plan for individuals with too much debt to qualify for Chapter 11 or Chapter 13.

Chapter11 businesses bankruptcy: Chapter 11 is a process that allows businesses to reorganize their debts.  It allows a business debtor to decrease its debt and increase its cash flow.  It can also allow a business to maximize a return on the sale of its assets.
